Today there is a wine event in Camarillo that is worth your time and effort.
The Casa Pacifica Angels Wine & Food Festival not only promises a
great time - it ranked atop all cultural events for Ventura County
residents last year - but it also contributes to a worthy cause.

The event will feature delicious food
samples, wine tasting, microbrewery tastings and live entertainment
throughout the afternoon. There will be a BEST in FEST culinary
competition judged by a panel of celebrity judges.
The
Wine & Food Festival raises substantial funds for Casa Pacifica
Centers for Children and Families – the largest nonprofit provider of
children’s mental health services in Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties
whose mission is to provide help to abused, neglected, or at-risk
children through a wide variety of community-based programs. Last year
the Festival raised nearly $200,000 to support the $2.4 million that
Casa Pacifica needs to raise in donations to meet its annual operating
budget.
Foodies will see a number of regional culinary greats competing.
Present will be Tim Kilcoyne of The Sidecar Restaurant, Michael Noyes
of Westside Cellar, Michael Muirhead of Safire, Nic Manocchio from
C-Street, Karl Holst from Spanish Hills Country Club, Mario
Alcocer from Hampton’s at the Four Seasons Hotel in Westlake Village,
Peter Maher of Capistrano’s, Sylvain Rivet from Amuse Bouche, Kevin
Aidukas from Sherwood Country Club, and Jason Collis from Jonathan’s at
Pierano’s.
Among the award-winning California wineries to be in attendance are Cantara
Cellars, Casa Barranca, Rancho Ventavo, Cass, Herzog, Opolo, Clos Du
Bois, Robert Mondavi and Malibu Family Wines. Microbreweries like Anacapa Brewery, Stone Brewing, Karl Strauss, Pyramid, and Sierra Nevada will also pour their product.
Tickets cost $90 today of the event. There are also $200 VIP tickets
that offer valet parking, a special lounge and other perks. See their website
for more information.
