The Casa Pacifica Angels Wine, Food & Brew Festival has steadily grown since 1994 to become the premier wine and food event in Ventura County. It began at the Ventura Pierpont Inn, continued from 2001 to 2006 at the Mandalay Beach Resort in Oxnard, and has flourished since 2007 at California State University’s Channel Islands in Camarillo. In fact, it has been voted both “Best Charity Event” and “Best Food & Drink Festival” of Ventura County since 2012!

2018 Yummie Culinary Competition Winners
Celebrating the Festival’s 25th Anniversary, actor Oded Fehr returned as the emcee of the 8th Annual Yummie Culinary Competition. A wonderful Yummie panel of esteemed judges crowned winners for the best “Savory” and the best “Sweet” chef’s masterpiece based on flavor, presentation, innovation, and quality. The battle for the top prize was almost too close to call this year with over 25 exhibitors competing!

The First place 2018 Yummie Top Chef Award Winner in the Savory category – for the third year in a row! – was Chef Alex Castillo of Twenty88 Gourmet Fusion for their “Jalisco” style short ribs. The second place winner was Chef Becky Blosser of Barrelhouse 101 for their Puerco’s nachos. And the third place winner in the Savory category was Chef Richardo T. Carreto of Rhumb Line for their toasted focaccia with house cured salmon, wasabi cream, and guava jam.
The First place 2018 Yummie Top Chef Award Winner in the Sweet category was Shawn and Sarah Pritchett, owners of Ragamuffin Coffee Roasters, for their vegan nitro float. The second place winner was Chef Julia San Bartolome of Sweet Arleen’s for their assemble-yourself an “Old Fashion” dessert. And our third place winner in the Sweet category was Chef Becky Blosser of Barrelhouse 101 for their churrones.
The Yummie winners and the “Best in Fest” Brew winner – Topa Topa Brewing Co. were awarded their prizes on the main stage to a large cheering audience!

About the Yummie Dinner
The Yummie Top Chef Dinner will take place on Friday, May 31st, at the beautiful California State University Channel Islands. A seven-course feast will be prepared by previous Yummie culinary competition winners, and their food will be paired with award-winning wines plus our “Best in Fest” brew from 2019.
An unforgettable way to kick-off the annual Angels Wine, Food & Brew Festival, dinner guests will have a behind-the-scenes look in the VIP tent before the festival begins. Tickets are $200 per person, purchase your tickets early, as the number of seats are limited. Join us for one of the yummiest dinners you will ever have!

The Festival offers many options to taste gourmet foods and sip special beverages. The festival is all inclusive: patrons may sample and sip as many delightful foods and beverages as they desire as often as they wish. Winemakers from a cross-section of California’s famous wine regions will pour their award-winning wines, and a wide range of craft beers from local breweries will offer an alternative beverage to quench your thirst.

VIP Ticket Holders should enter on Camarillo Street and follow the signs to the color lot matching your parking pass. Parking pass must be visible in your vehicle. Admission into the event starts at 12 noon for VIP ticket holders and 1 p.m. for General Admission ticket holders.
